Other restrictions: Water: The ground water at WSTS is non-potable (you can't drink it without getting sick) Standalone water points are available. Units/participants are required to bring water cans / bottled water for their soldiers. Fires: Units/ participants who will be camping and who wish to have a fire will have to provide their own above ground fire pit or 55 gal drum cut in half. 55gal drums will have to be elevated as well. Wood will be available but units will have to go to the site and cut it themselves. Units WILL NOT be allowed to dig fire pits on WSTS property. Fires will only be built in designated areas. Units desiring to have fires will be required to have a fire extinguisher on hand. Stoves: Units intending to use stoves will have a fire extinguisher on hand at all times. Stoves will not be placed directly on bare ground. A stone or metal buffer will be used to prevent grass fires. The stove will only be used when personnel are present.

Prohibited Vehicles/Items: All WWII vehicles including tracked vehicles are welcome, weather conditions permitting; tracked vehicles may be limited to the gravel road and battle field. Smaller vehicles such as Jeeps, Motorcycles, Kubels & Lightweight Trucks may drive on the grassy areas. A static vehicle honor display area has been established for all attending vehicles. Boats and other period water crafts such rafts are also welcome on the Fox River, but should contact us first prior to bringing out. River depth is only 2-3 feet in the vicinity of the museum.

Other restrictions: No alcoholic beverages permitted in the Museum and County Park. No digging, but camp fires are allowed in above pits and military stoves and grills. No firing of weapons in the encampment area in County Park by Forest Preserve Ordinance; but okay in the designated battlefield areas on museum property.
Camp Amenities: Flush Toilets on site. Shaded Camp sites can be reserved by early registrants on a first come first served bases.
Motels: Accommodations available in nearby Elgin and St. Charles Illinois: Hampton Inn, the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites and West Dundee's Marriott International-Courtyard & Towne Place Suites; and in St. Charles: Best Western, Country Inn & Suites, Fairfield Inn & Suites, Geneva Motel, Hampton Inn & Suites, Hilton Garden Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Hotel Baker, Pheasant Run Resort, and Super 8. Restaurants: There are eating establishments with in a very easy walk of the museum ranging in variety from hot dogs to pizza.

ADVANCE ON SAINT LO - PRELUDE TO OPERATION COBRA
TACTICAL EVENT

Location: L.E. Phillips Scout Reservation, 2900 16th Street, Haugen, Wisconsin, 54841.
Dates: Friday, October 7th to Sunday, October 9th, 2016.
Event Times: Check-in Friday, 4pm – 10pm and Saturday, 7:30am to 8:30am. S & A at 8:45am. Scenarios go from 9:15am to 5:30pm. Saturday evening meal at 6:30pm.
Registration Times: Until midnight, October 4th. You must pre-register, no walk-ons allowed.

Fee: $20.00 for tactical and Saturday evening meal. Additional $15.00 if staying overnight 1 or 2 nights. Barracks style accommodations, bunk beds with mattresses, restrooms, showers, limited availability.

Authenticity Notes: All WWII HRS authenticity rules will apply and be strictly enforced. Timeframe is July, 1944, European Theater, Normandy area of France. All Allied and German impressions correct for the ETO and that time period are welcome. No partisan or civilian impressions allowed and this event is not open to public spectators. Rules of engagement will be designed to make the event as realistic as possible. Battle scenarios will be objective oriented. Units must maintain squad strength to be an effective fighting force.
Prohibited Vehicles/Items: NO LIVE AMMO! Authentic or period reproduction vehicles are allowed but use on site may be limited depending upon weather conditions.
Restrictions on minors: All participants must be at least 18 years old.
Other restrictions: No alcoholic beverages or illegal substances. No pyrotechnics or smoke allowed. No digging holes. No smoking in or around buildings, allowed in wooded areas only, please leave no trace.
